Dear Writers

After my first book was published, I was approached by other writers for advice on how to get published. My first client was Barbara Berg and I wrote her a book proposal that got her a deal with McGraw-Hill. Both her literary agent and the editor said it was the best proposal they ever read.

I have since had an additional 8 books published and through word-of-mouth I ended up working with dozens of writers.  I know all the ins and outs of publishing. After several requests, I am offering my expertise to new writers.  Here’s what I can do.

Coaching

My college journalism professor was a tough old-school copy editor. I follow his lead and believe writing needs to be tight and compelling. My job is to make you a better writer. To that end, I  actually read your manuscript, I will give feedback page by page and paragraph by paragraph. I’ll also encourage and inspire you to keep going and finish your book.

Editing and Proof Reading

When you’re almost finished your manuscript, I will edit and proof read your text and polish it up.

Publishing

If you plan on finding a publisher I can help you with writing query letters and book proposals to find a literary agent (I have had two) or direct to admissions editors at publishing houses.

If you plan on publishing to Amazon, Kindle, or LuLu I can create the book layout and cover design. I am recognized by the Canadian Council for the Arts as both a literary and visual artist. I love books and I bring my artistic talents into designing a beautiful book layout that looks professional, inviting, and brands your unique style. I can also design the book cover and will work with you to bring your ideas to life.

If your manuscript is almost done, I can work with you through the process and have a paperback copy of your book in your hands in a month.

E-mail me and we can set up a time for a free consultation, then go from there.
