As an Emergency Room Physician for
over 25 years experience I can heartily endorse and recommend the Little
Warriors programs.
Certainly the most heartbreaking aspect
of my profession is treating the children that are brought into the emergency
room. I cannot emphasise enough how important child safety and prevention is
when viewed from an operating table.
Not only does the Little Warriors
program train children to protect themselves from predators, it also teaches
lifesaving lessons on street safety, awareness and what to do in an emergency. I
recommend that anyone interested in child safety and prevention should look into
this program.

"At 6
am on Saturday morning I heard noises coming from
Kaylas room and when I went in to see what she was up
to I found she was cleaning her room! I asked her why she was
up so early cleaning her room and she said she was getting
ready for class and that Sensei had told her a good warrior
keeps everything neat and tidy. I come back an hour later and
found her doing her stretches on the floor. Then she came and
ate breakfast with us. We have been trying for months now to
make Kayla eat breakfast but she just doesnt like to
eat in the morning and we were worried she wasnt
developing good eating habits. Her dad asked her why she
suddenly felt like eating breakfast now and she said that
Sensei told her you need to have a good meal two hours before
class so you will have lots of energy. Well my husbands
mouth just dropped. Shes been doing this every Saturday
now for two months". (Kayla was six years old)

"I was
walking trough the kitchen when I stepped on one of the
kids toys and twisted my ankle. Christopher heard me
cry out and came running in to see what happened. I told him
I twisted my ankle and was about to scold him for leaving his
toys around when he told me to go lie down on the couch. I
hopped into the living room to do as I was told. He then
propped my leg up on some pillows and then went to the
kitchen. He came back with some ice cubes in a plastic bag
wrapped with a towel and he put the cold compress on my
ankle. Since the moment I got injured Christopher took charge
of the situation and did exactly the right things. I
dont know how he learned all that but I know he learned
it from you." (Christopher was five years old.)

"Jacobs
older brother was going to have his Barmitzvah and we thought it
would be wonderful if Jacob would say the prayer before the
temple congregation. Jacob had always been very shy and shrunk
away from large groups of children. Jacob had been in the Little
Warriors program for three months and had become much more
sociable, but to ask him to stand at a podium before a crowd of
several hundred adults was frightening enough for anyone
including adults. Jacob however surprised us by calmly agreeing
to do it. Moments before he was to go up to the podium, I asked
him if he wasnt frightened by going up to say prayer. Jacob
replied that he simply used his breathing to focus like he was
taught in the Little Warrior class and that he didnt feel
afraid at all. He said the prayer in Hebrew before the whole
congregation without a single mistake. His Mother and I were so
proud well never forget that day, and we got it on tape
too. I dont know how you taught him to do that but it is
the most amazing thing Ive seen. " (Jacob was had just
turned Five at the time)
